wow - it's been a while. too long, i know.
quick update:
i took 2nd (of 160ish) in a WSOP Main Event qualifier at Pechanga this past weekend. Had to settle for about $3k instead of the seat + cash. bummer. so close to dancing again. the luckbox got AA on final hand. who gets AA heads up for the title??? the final table all got a voucher to play in the same tourney later this month, so let's see if i can get heads up again!
the next night in the syndicate tourney i got heads up again with the Season 1 winner of the seat. Season 1 vs. Season 2. He went in with at least a 3:1 advantage and i got close to even, but no cigar. his 6-4o made 2 pair vs. my KK for most of my chips. i'm now in 5th place overall with 8 tourneys left. i'm feeling hot and ready to make a run!
i guess i could do worse than 2nd two nights in a row.

ok, yes, anonymous, the turn shove with J high vs my QQ was a good play. thankfully, you got lucky to spike a J and eliminate the other guy. winning that pot really was the turning point, giving you a huge chip advantage heads up and allowing some more speculative preflop calls (ref: 6-4o).
does an ace have to flop every time when i have a premium pair in a raised pot?

The first satellite is held on Full Tilt Poker (a freeroll) February 10th.
Right now there's only 34 players signed up, the top 4 advance to a single-table semi-final in February. The fields aren't going to get any smaller as word of this promotion spreads. So if you want in, you'll want to play some of the earlier events to have less competition.
